Quebec Shooting Guide Cover09

Welcome to Québec!

If someone were to ask me what I thought made Québec such an attractive shooting location, I wouldn’t know where to start... there is so much to appreciate!
Québec has long offered filmmakers a creative and inexpensive backdrop for their productions. Our European cultural and architectural heritage, our vast and diverse territory, the state-of-the-art CGI facilities, sound stages, technology and equipment continue to lure film producers from all over the world. Then again, our unparalleled tax credits coupled with our experienced technical crews and strong digital animation infrastructure could also explain the attraction. Québec is not just another location; when it comes to getting the picture made it can meet the needs of any screenplay, from auteur-driven productions such as I’m Not There and The Fountain to mega-blockbusters such as 300, Get Smart, Death Race, Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D, The Mummy 3 and, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Our visual effects capacity has also multiplied, with shots done for Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Fast & Furious 4, Mr. Nobody, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Young Victoria and Avatar.

Our goal at the Québec Film and Television Council (QFTC) is to provide professional support and assistance to producers who want to save time, effort and money. We provide a full range of free services tailored to the individual needs of each production and to ensure that producers benefit from all that Québec has to offer.

The 2010-2011 Québec Shooting Guide is an indispensable resource loaded with comprehensive information on industry facilities and services. This 14th edition of Québec’s industry directory will enable you to locate any resources you may need in order to get the job done quickly and efficiently. We have added several new features in this edition, including a section dedicated to “dubbing in Quebec” highlighting dubbing and translation houses. Finally, we have updated the list of motion pictures that were shot and post-produced here

While the QFTC Web site www.qftc.ca also serves as an exhaustive resource for filmmakers, our head office in the heart of Old Montreal can also serve as a base of operations for producers scouting Québec. For more information about filming in Québec, do not hesitate contacting us at info@qftc.ca or by calling at 866 320-3456 (Toll-free in North America) or 514 499-7070.
