Over the years, Québec has acquired a wealth of expertise in all facets of film and television post-production.
In particular, the province is recognized as a pioneer and resource in the specialized fields of 3-D animation and
visual effects.
Groundbreaking animation and VFX software developed by Québec-based companies (AutoDesk, SoftImage,
ToonBoom, etc.) have for many years set the world standard in terms of innovation, creativity and talent.
Nowadays, most productions requiring digital animation or visual effects use Québec-made software in some
form or another.
Our animation and visual effects companies serve major clients (Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, Walden Media, ,
Legendary Pictures, 20th Century Fox, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Coca-Cola, Budweiser and more)
and continue to receive international recognition ( Academy Awards, Emmys, BD As, VES Awards, etc.).
Many of Québec?s independent companies specializing in digital animation and visual effects for film, television
and commercial productions have joined the Québec Film and Television Council (QFTC ). One of the QFTC ?s main
objectives is to introduce Québec?s resources to key industry players the world over. The QFTC also carries out
projects aimed at sustaining high growth in technology and innovation and works closely with its members and
partners in order to develop strategies supporting its strong digital animation infrastructure.
For any project involving either special effects, character design, matte painting, set extension, compositing or
motion graphics, or when considering international partnerships for locally developed original content, the QFTC
member companies have the resources and expertise to deliver outstanding results on time and within budget.
