Montreal is truly an international production center and can handsomely stand in for a variety of US and European
cities. Old Montreal, down by the original docks, is nearly 100 acres of period buildings and cobblestone streets
dating back to the 17th century. For film-makers, this can work well for historic London, Paris or New York. Combine
that with a 20,000 strong and innovative technician crew base, some of the biggest and newest sound stages in
North America, world renowned VFX houses and a very attractive bottom line (thanks, among other things, to
highly competitive tax credits), and you will understand why Martin Scorsese, Roland Emmerich, Zack Snyder and
David Fincher were all thrilled to bring their productions to Montreal.
