The Government of Canada provides first opportunity for employment to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada. People who have obtained work permits from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) are also entitled to work in Canada. These permits are issued at a Canadian visa office abroad, or in the case of US residents, at ports of entry. A letter of introduction signed by an official representative of the production company or the Production Manager should be provided to Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) by mail, messenger or fax, as far in advance as possible for specific requests for work permits.
